Vegetable tanned leather

THE VEGETABLE TANNED LEATHER

85% of global leather production uses chrome-tanning. Chromed-tanned leather is harmful to your health and the environment. But the production process of this leather is much faster and cheaper.

Vegetable tanned leather has a longer, more gentle and chemical free production process. This leather has also a longer length of life than chrome-tanned leather.

Its productive cycle is strictly monitored to ensure a low impact on the environment:

  • No animal is killed for its skin only. On the contrary, the raw hides used by our tanneries are the discarded by-products of the food industry producing meat for human consumption.
  • A vegetable-tanned leather object can be easily disposed of at the end of its life
  • Our tanneries have made huge investments in depuration systems, waste recycling and upcycling in different fields. Our tanneries work in full respect of man and the environment.
  • Vegetable-tanned leather does not contain any toxic substance such as azo-dyes, nickel, PCP or chrome VI harmful to man and is highly tolerable for those who suffer from metal related allergies.
